SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Virginia Sue Barlow of Farmer City, who
4passed away on December 1, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Virginia Barlow was born in Urbana to Charles and
6Guyneth Keysear on June 25, 1939; she attended elementary and
7junior high school in Normal and graduated from Moore High
8School in Farmer City in 1957; she married Roger Barlow at the
9Farmer City United Methodist Church on November 12, 1960; she
10and Roger moved to Cissna Park in the 1970s and returned to the
11Farmer City area in 1973; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Virginia Barlow was a teacher's aide in the Farmer
13City-Mansfield School District and later worked as an office
14manager for Classic Coil in Farmer City; she also worked as an
15engineer's aid at the Clinton Power Station, retiring in May of
162000; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Virginia Barlow had a passion for the family dogs,
18and she and Roger volunteered with Mobile Mutts, an
19organization which helps transfer adopted dogs to their forever
20homes; they also shared a love for country music and local opry
21shows; together, they helped create the Prairie Promenaders
22Square Dance Club in the 1970s; and

1    WHEREAS, Virginia Barlow enjoyed the holidays, including
2the annual traditions of baking, decorating, and shopping; the
3team at her son Ken's business always awaited and appreciated
4the arrival of new candies from her kitchen; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Virginia Barlow was preceded in death by her
6parents; an infant son, Timothy; and her brothers, Rick and
7Guy; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Virginia Barlow is survived by her husband, Roger;
9her sons, Kevin and Ken; her niece, Tabitha Keysear; her
10nephew, Tim Keysear; her grand-nieces, Victoria Lenz, Savannah
11Budd, and Jacqueline Keysear; her grand-nephew, Logan Keysear;
12and her grand-dog, Dugger; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Virginia Sue Barlow and extend our sincere condolences to her
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Virginia Barlow as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
