2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Virginia Sue Barlow of Farmer City, who |
4 | | passed away on December 1, 2019; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Virginia Barlow was born in Urbana to Charles and |
6 | | Guyneth Keysear on June 25, 1939; she attended elementary and |
7 | | junior high school in Normal and graduated from Moore High |
8 | | School in Farmer City in 1957; she married Roger Barlow at the |
9 | | Farmer City United Methodist Church on November 12, 1960; she |
10 | | and Roger moved to Cissna Park in the 1970s and returned to the |
11 | | Farmer City area in 1973; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Virginia Barlow was a teacher's aide in the Farmer |
13 | | City-Mansfield School District and later worked as an office |
14 | | manager for Classic Coil in Farmer City; she also worked as an |
15 | | engineer's aid at the Clinton Power Station, retiring in May of |
16 | | 2000; and

17 | | WHEREAS, Virginia Barlow had a passion for the family dogs, |
18 | | and she and Roger volunteered with Mobile Mutts, an |
19 | | organization which helps transfer adopted dogs to their forever |
20 | | homes; they also shared a love for country music and local opry |
21 | | shows; together, they helped create the Prairie Promenaders |
22 | | Square Dance Club in the 1970s; and |
