SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jerry Eugene Webb of Granite City, who
4passed away on June 4, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerry Webb was born in St. Louis to Phylis Dement
6Scott and George Webb on June 25, 1949; he served in the U.S.
7Army during the Vietnam War; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Jerry Webb was employed by Granite City School
9District #9 for nearly 40 years, where he served as president
10of SEIU Local #98 even after retirement; for over 30 years, he
11taught heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration at
12Southwestern Illinois College (Belleville Area College); he
13also operated Webb's Heating, Air Conditioning &
14Refrigeration, where on many occasions he did not charge the
15customers who were in need of his services; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Jerry Webb was an avid lover of music and
17dedicated much of his life to helping others; he was a
18generous, kind, and loving man who never met a stranger; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jerry Webb was preceded in death by his parents
20and his brothers, James Webb, James Porter, Gary Scott, and
21Sammy Scott; and

1    WHEREAS, Jerry Webb is survived by his wife, Kathleen Webb;
2his stepfather, Kenneth Scott; his siblings, Nina Fisher, Pat
3Parton (Frank), Kenny Scott, and Yvonne Whittington (David);
4his children, Patricia Mousette (Kevin), Joanna Webb-Gauvin
5(Scott), Derrick Webb, and Darrin Webb; eight grandchildren;
6one great-grandchild; many loving brothers and sisters-in-law;
7and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Jerry Eugene Webb and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Jerry Webb as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
