SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Margaret Rose "Marge" (Ahern) Lorr, who
4passed away on August 14, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marge Lorr was born to Hugh J. and Bernice Kerwin
6Ahern on June 19, 1936; she graduated from Trinity High School
7in River Forest; she graduated from the College of St. Teresa
8in Winona, Minnesota in 1958; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Marge Lorr was an active member of Holy Cross
10parish for 48 years, where she worked with many Catholic
11philanthropies, including the Christmas basket program for
12people in Waukegan; she was a room mother, a member of the
13school board, a den mother, and a member of the Friends of St.
14Malachy; she was involved with two prayer groups and the Christ
15Renews His Parish (C.H.R.P.) retreats; she was a Minister of
16Care and donated her time to many fundraising events; she
17received the Christifideles Award from the Archdiocese of
18Chicago in 2014; she was the recipient of the Village of
19Deerfield Humanitarian Award; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Marge Lorr was the beloved wife of James D. Lorr,
21the loving daughter of the late Hugh J. Ahern and Bernice
22Kerwin Ahern, the loving mother of Cathy (Eric) Hasenberg,

1Margaret (Mike) Lange, Mary (Martin) Gadek, Rose (Eric) Smyth,
2James, Michael (Dawn) Lorr, Robert (Nadia) Lorr, and Donald
3(Elizabeth Griffin) Lorr, the cherished grandmother of Tony,
4Melissa (Austin) Davies, Andy, Nicole, Michael, Margaret,
5Matthew, Erica, Kelly, Maria, Nicholas, Ronin, Daniel,
6Isabella, Luke, Francesca, and Maude, the great-grandmother of
7Timothy and Olivia, the dear sister of the late Hugh (Mary
8Kay), the late Jack (Marilyn), the late William (Helen), James
9(Sheila), Tom (Carole), and Frank (friend Kay), the cherished
10sister-in-law of Robert (the late Marion) and John (Barbara),
11and the fond aunt of many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Margaret Rose "Marge" (Ahern) Lorr and extend our sincere
15condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
16her; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Marge Lorr as an expression of our
19deepest sympathy.
