SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard E. "Dick" Donlin of Rock Island,
4who passed away on July 31, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dick Donlin was born in Rock Island to Eva and
6Edgar Donlin on July 19, 1931; he graduated from Rock Island
7High School in 1949; he served in the United States Navy aboard
8the attack carrier U.S.S. Leyte CVA-32 during the Korean
9Conflict; he married Dorothy Jean Cherry on March 9, 1953; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dick Donlin retired from the former Iowa Illinois
11Gas and Electric Company after 38 years of service; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dick Donlin was a lifelong member of the 15th
13Avenue Christian Church in Rock Island; he enjoyed yard work,
14gardening, traveling, wintering in Florida, and spending time
15with his family, friends, and fellow workers; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dick Donlin was preceded in death by his wife,
17Dorothy; his parents; and 12 brothers and sisters; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Dick Donlin is survived by his friend and
19companion, Joy Miller; his daughters, Mary Luann Browning and
20Linda (Frank) Warren; his grandchildren, Matthew Browning,

1Kimberly (Shawn) Stiles, Katrina Browning, Nicole (Mark)
2Koster, Angela Howser, and Courtney (Jake) Bockover; his 11
3great-grandsons; his four great-granddaughters; his
4great-great-grandson; his great-great-granddaughter; his
5lifelong friend, Clair Pearson; and many nieces, nephews,
6extended family members, and friends; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Richard E. "Dick" Donlin and extend our sincere condolences to
10his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Dick Donlin as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
