SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Antonia "Toni" Hiroko Wiese of Waukegan,
4who passed away on July 6, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Toni Wiese was born in Tokyo, Japan to Yasuzo and
6Kin (Ito) Kawai on January 17, 1933; she married Leroy "Skip"
7Wiese in Tokyo in 1956, and they made their home in Waukegan;
8she became a proud citizen of the United States in 1962; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Toni Wiese worked as a floral designer for 7 years
10before purchasing Pierce Florists; she retired after 22 years
11and pursued her passion of painting; she excelled in her work
12and won many awards; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Toni Wiese was a founding member of St. Dismas
14Catholic Church and an active member of the Women's Club; she
15adored her family and looked forward to special occasions and
16family gatherings; she was kind and generous; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Toni Wiese is survived by her husband of 63 years,
18Leroy; her daughters, Carrie (James) Ware, Christina (Dennis)
19Heslin, Catherine (Jack) Herman, and Corrinne (Michael) Bleck;
20her sister, Yoshiko (Masakastu) Nakamori; her 11
21grandchildren; and her extended family in the United States and

1Japan, along with countless friends; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Antonia "Toni" Hiroko Wiese and extend our sincere condolences
5to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
6it further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Toni Wiese as an expression of our
9deepest sympathy.
