SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Evan Drew Coobs of Champaign, who passed
4away on June 24, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Evan Coobs was born in Oelwein, Iowa to Edward W.
6and Doris A. (Rodenberg) Coobs on November 11, 1963; he
7graduated from Central High School in Elkader, Iowa in 1982; he
8earned a degree in accounting from the University of Iowa and
9then graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law in
101989; he married Karen Marie McGann in Peoria on July 4, 1987;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Evan Coobs was a practicing attorney for 30 years;
13he was a shareholder of the Meyer Capel law firm, where he
14worked as a business and transactional attorney; prior to
15joining Meyer Capel in 1996, he was in private practice in
16Minnesota and an in-house attorney in Champaign; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Evan Coobs believed in the importance of family
18and was a devoted husband and father; he was always available
19and willing to help his family and friends; he looked for the
20humor in people and situations and had a larger-than-life
21personality; and

1    WHEREAS, Evan Coobs is survived by his wife, Karen; his
2children, Evan Drew (Marie) Coobs II, Abigail Marie (Kale)
3Brinkoetter, and Katherine Anne (Jacob) Chesnut; his
4grandchildren, Kayla Jo Coobs and Evan Drew Coobs III; his
5siblings, Earl Coobs, Donna Strange, Eric Coobs, and Cory
6Coobs; and many aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore,
7be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Evan Drew Coobs and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Evan Coobs as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
