SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Barbara Mae Black of Danville, who passed
4away on May 25, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Barbara Black was born in Arlington Heights to
6Joseph and Elizabeth (Braun) Ziesk on July 23, 1928; she
7married Richard "Tiger" Black in 1957; they moved to Danville,
8where her husband founded Colonial Manor Nursing Home; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Barbara Black was well known for her hats and
10costume jewelry; she enjoyed rummaging through thrift shops,
11where she was often found looking for the perfect piece to
12finish an outfit; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Barbara Black was preceded in death by her
14husband, Richard; her parents; her brother, Julius; and her
15sisters, Delores and Eileen; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Barbara Black is survived by her children, Linda
17Morrison, Leslie (Shelly) Black, Mark Black, and Todd (Sara)
18Black; her grandchildren, Sara (Chris) Kronteras, Rachel
19(Simon) Brazinski, Jane Black, Peter Black, and David Black;
20her great-grandchildren, Jessica, Sophia, Chance, and Elli;
21her great-great-grandchild, Samantha; and her sister, Betty

2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Barbara Mae Black and extend our sincere condolences to her
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Barbara Black as an expression of
9our deepest sympathy.
