SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Allan G. Mueller of Urbana, who passed
4away on March 15, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Allan Mueller was born in Taylor Ridge on November
617, 1923; he studied at the University of Illinois in
7Urbana-Champaign, where he met his wife, Gloria, whom he
8married in 1947; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Allan Mueller was a professor of agricultural
10economics at the University of Illinois; he loved teaching and
11interacting with his students; he was particularly proud of
12developing a popular Ag Business Organization and Accounting
13course that he taught for 15 years; he did extensive Extension
14work, developed farm record systems, taught courses, and
15mentored more than 25 graduate students until his retirement in
161984; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Allan Mueller, along with his wife, continued his
18involvement with the Ag Department by providing scholarship
19money for incoming students who plan to study agriculture; he
20was involved with Nabor House Fraternity, of which he was a
21founding member as a student in the 1940s; during his career
22and in retirement, he traveled extensively with his wife; they

1visited Australia, Ireland, England, and Canada, attended
2Elder Hostel programs, and made two visits to South Africa
3while he was on sabbatical from the university; he enjoyed
4woodworking, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his
5family; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Allan Mueller was preceded in death by his wife of
764 years, Gloria; and his son, Ross Allan Mueller; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Allan Mueller is survived by his daughter, Becky
9(Thomas) Musch; and his daughter-in-law, Barbara Mueller;
10therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Allan G. Mueller and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Allan Mueller as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
