2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Margaret "Peg" Bailey Puccini of | ||||||
4 | Pineville, North Carolina, formerly of Oak Park, who passed | ||||||
5 | away on December 15, 2018 at the age of 75; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Margaret Puccini was born in Danville to Mary | ||||||
7 | McCreary and Martin Bailey on June 4, 1943; she attended grade | ||||||
8 | school and high school in Danville and graduated from Southern | ||||||
9 | Illinois University in 1967; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Margaret Puccini married John Puccini of Berwyn on | ||||||
11 | April 13, 1968; she was active in planning events in her | ||||||
12 | neighborhood and enjoyed attending her sons' sporting events at | ||||||
13 | Oak Park and River Forest High School; she was an avid | ||||||
14 | gardener, collector, and reader and epitomized what it meant to | ||||||
15 | be a lady, moving through the world with grace and dignity; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Margaret Puccini had a deep appreciation for the | ||||||
17 | finer things and had a distinct style; she was known for being | ||||||
18 | an immaculate hostess and a master chef; at the same time, she | ||||||
19 | had strong opinions and, when necessary, made them known with | ||||||
20 | her razor-sharp wit and, at times, her wicked sense of humor; | ||||||

1 | WHEREAS, Margaret Puccini welcomed all in every sense of | ||||||
2 | the word; when people entered her home, they did not want to | ||||||
3 | leave; she was warm, kind, and incredibly generous, taking joy | ||||||
4 | in giving; she volunteered through the Oak Park Township and | ||||||
5 | delivered meals to the homes of other Oak Parkers as a way to | ||||||
6 | improve their quality of life; she was a linchpin for her | ||||||
7 | husband and sons, her siblings, and her family in general; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Margaret Puccini is survived by her husband of 50 | ||||||
9 | years, John; her sons, Jeffrey and Samuel (Shelley) Puccini; | ||||||
10 | her grandson, Jackson Puccini; her siblings, Barbara Kessel, | ||||||
11 | Martha Plog, and Martin (Buz) Bailey; and her many nieces, | ||||||
12 | nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; therefore, be it
| ||||||
13 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
14 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
15 | Margaret "Peg" Bailey Puccini and extend our sincere | ||||||
16 | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
17 | her; and be it further

18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
19 | presented to the family of Margaret Puccini as an expression of | ||||||
20 | our deepest sympathy.
