SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James F. "Jim" "Junior" "Freddie" Crater
4of Crest Hill, who passed away on March 22, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jim Crater was born in Braidwood to Stella
6(Stasney) and Fred Crater on May 23, 1936; he attended St. Mary
7Nativity and St. John's Grade Schools as well as Joliet
8Township High School and Joliet Catholic High; he was a veteran
9of the United States Army; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jim Crater worked as a butcher, primarily at
11Ordman's and Wally's supermarket, and eventually retired from
12Sam's Club; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jim Crater was a member of the American Legion
14Post #1080; he was an avid fan of JCA football and served as an
15IHSA official for many years; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Jim Crater was preceded in death by his parents;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, Jim Crater was the beloved husband of Mary Ann
19(Bertino) Crater, the loving father of Renee (Nick) Vulgaris,
20Jeff (Fran) Crater, Michelle (Andy) Arnston, and Jayme (Shawn)

1Monroe, the devoted grandfather of George Nicholas and Katie
2(Ryan) Vulgaris, Marisa (Kyle), and Tyler (Renee) Crater,
3Alexandria "Allie" and Lindsey Arnston, and Colt "C.J."
4(Katelin) and Ashlee (Jason) Monroe, the proud
5great-grandfather of Revan Monroe, and the brother-in-law of
6Ray Bertino; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
9James. F. "Jim" "Junior" "Freddie" Crater and extend our
10sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
11and loved him; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Jim Crater as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
