2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of William B. "Bill" Mullins Sr. of |
4 | | Bloomington, who passed away on March 12, 2019; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Bill Mullins Sr. was born in Berea, Kentucky to |
6 | | Robert E. and Mary Elizabeth Showen Mullins on October 22, |
7 | | 1943; he grew up in Bloomington, attended District 87 schools, |
8 | | and became a wrestling letterman; he graduated from Illinois |
9 | | Wesleyan University, where he was a Phi Gamma Delta; he married |
10 | | Mary Lynn Eisenberg in Mount Vernon, Kentucky on March 6, 1964; |
11 | | and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Bill Mullins Sr. began his career selling |
13 | | yearbooks and class rings; after an early retirement, he |
14 | | transitioned careers and opened an American Family Insurance |
15 | | agency, which he operated for 19 years; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, Bill Mullins Sr. was involved in many civic and |
17 | | fraternal organizations, including PTA boards and committees |
18 | | at Brigham Elementary and Normal Community High School; he |
19 | | served several terms as a Unit 5 school board member and was a |
20 | | trustee for Bloomington Township Fire Department; he supported |
21 | | the McLean County Republican Party; he was a member of First |
22 | | Baptist Church in Bloomington, where he served on the church |

1 | | board and as a youth leader for many years; he was a loving |
2 | | husband, father, grandfather, and uncle; he treasured his |
3 | | family and enjoyed his friends; and
|
4 | | WHEREAS, Bill Mullins Sr. was preceded in death by his |
5 | | parents; his brother, Robert Mullins; and his sister, Martha |
6 | | Susan Mullins; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Bill Mullins Sr. is survived by his wife of 55 |
8 | | years, Mary; his children, Catherine (Charles) Arenson, |
9 | | William B. (Jeanna) Mullins Jr., Jennifer L. (Charles) Stuckey, |
10 | | Jim (Leslie) Mullins, John (Sara) Mullins, and Thomas J. |
11 | | Mullins; his grandchildren, Steven Mullins, Lauren Hegg, |
12 | | Joshua, Justin, Aaron, and Sarah Jacobs, and Jade, Avery, and |
13 | | Cole Mullins; his in-laws, Ed Eisenberg, Mickey Julian, and |
14 | | Mary Ann Mullins; and his seven nieces and nephews; therefore, |
15 | | be it

16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL |
17 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
18 | | William B. "Bill" Mullins Sr. and extend our sincere |
19 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
20 | | him; and be it further
