SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Marilyn J. Law, who passed away on
4February 5, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marilyn Law was born in Central City to John and
6Virginia (Felchlia) Bryant on November 12, 1942; she married
7Michael D. "Mike" McClellan in Bethalto on January 3, 1987; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Marilyn Law was employed as a teacher in the Salem
9and Vandalia School Districts; she then joined the Roxana
10School District, where she taught at Rosewood School and
11Burbank School; she then became the principal at Rosewood
12School, Roxana Junior High, and South Roxana Elementary; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Marilyn Law was an active union steward, a member
14of the South Roxana Dad's Club, and a foster mom; she enjoyed
15antiques and traveling with the Gypsy Caravan Antique Club; she
16was a member of House of Victory Church in Cottage Hills, where
17she was active with the Kids Club; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Marilyn Law was preceded in death by her parents;
19her husband, Mike; her great-granddaughter, Jayden Nicole
20Kirksey; her brothers, John and James Bryant; and her
21sister-in-law, Janice Bryant; and

1    WHEREAS, Marilyn Law is survived by her daughter, Debbie
2(Richard) Kelley; her son, Tim (Hope) McClellan; her
3grandchildren, Paul Kirksey, Amy (Frank) Henke, Kelsi (Jordon
4Byrn) McClellan, Michaela (Jim) Hodges, Douglas McClellan,
5T.J. McClellan, and Michael McClellan; her
6great-grandchildren, Evan O'Brien, Jameson Byrn, Leah Henke,
7Brooke Henke, Paizleigh Hillig, Kinley Hillig, and Athena
8McClellan; her sister, Juli (George) Hatcher; her
9sister-in-law, Sandy Bryant; and several nieces, nephews,
10great-nieces, and great-nephews; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Marilyn J. Law and extend our sincere condolences to her
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Marilyn Law as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
