2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Harold L. Hoeferle of Normal, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on February 2, 2019; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Harold Hoeferle was born in Akron, Ohio to Paul R. | ||||||
6 | and Lydia E. Anderson Hoeferle on September 6, 1937; his early | ||||||
7 | family life was spent in Keokuk, Iowa, where he attended | ||||||
8 | school; he graduated from Southeastern Iowa Community College | ||||||
9 | and later the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of | ||||||
10 | Banking; he was a member of the Iowa National Guard; he married | ||||||
11 | Nancy Horner in Keokuk, Iowa on September 24, 1960; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Harold Hoeferle pursued a career in computers at | ||||||
13 | Shellor-Globe in Keokuk, Keystone Key and Wire in Bartonville, | ||||||
14 | and Arnold Engineering in Marengo; in 1967, he moved to | ||||||
15 | Bloomington to establish a computer system for People's Bank of | ||||||
16 | Bloomington, now Commerce Bank; after successfully starting | ||||||
17 | the data processing center in the bank, he assumed several | ||||||
18 | other positions, including president; in 1980, he purchased | ||||||
19 | Weaver & Associates Property Management, and in 1985, he | ||||||
20 | changed the name to Apartment Mart; he continued his interest | ||||||
21 | in banking and served on several bank boards through the years; | ||||||

1 | WHEREAS, Harold Hoeferle was active in the community; he | ||||||
2 | was a charter member of Epiphany Catholic Church, where he was | ||||||
3 | a Eucharistic Minister for many years; he served on several | ||||||
4 | community boards; he had a passion for golf and played a part | ||||||
5 | in the establishment of the Links of Ireland Grove Golf Course; | ||||||
6 | he selected the trees for the course and enjoyed watching them | ||||||
7 | grow; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Harold Hoeferle liked gardening, planting, and a | ||||||
9 | manicured lawn; he enjoyed sports, especially following his | ||||||
10 | son's high school sporting events; he shared his daughter's | ||||||
11 | love of horses and encouraged her passion; he loved to travel | ||||||
12 | with his wife and friends and cherished those memories; for | ||||||
13 | many years, his entire family traveled to Mexico and the | ||||||
14 | Caribbean to enjoy snorkeling and the beach; these trips were a | ||||||
15 | highlight in his life, as he saw his grandchildren grow to | ||||||
16 | share his love of the ocean; family meant everything to him, | ||||||
17 | and he treasured his long marriage; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Harold Hoeferle was preceded in death by his | ||||||
19 | parents; his brothers, Paul L. and Gerald L. Hoeferle; and his | ||||||
20 | brothers-in-law, Larry Horner and Dan Pope; and
| ||||||
21 | WHEREAS, Harold Hoeferle is survived by his wife, Nancy; | ||||||
22 | his daughter, Kristi L. (Jeff) Hunt; his son, Kurt L. (Ronda) | ||||||
23 | Hoeferle; his grandchildren, Lauren and Brian Hunt and Brooke, |

2 | Dulski) Hoeferle Dulski, Charlene Hoeferle, Suann (Wendell) | ||||||

4 | Kenneth (Pam) Horner Jr.; and several nieces and nephews; | ||||||
5 | therefore, be it

6 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
8 | Harold L. Hoeferle and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
9 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
10 | further

11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
12 | presented to the family of Harold Hoeferle as an expression of | ||||||
13 | our deepest sympathy.
