SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Albert C. "Al" Adlfinger of East Moline,
4who passed away on December 31, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Al Adlfinger was born in Rock Island to Albert and
6Mona (Kane) Adlfinger on December 13, 1930; he was a Korean War
7Veteran; he graduated from the University of Illinois with a
8degree in engineering; he married Elaine Woolsey in Moline on
9June 12, 1951; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Al Adlfinger retired from the Armament,
11Munitions, and Chemical Command Headquarters (AMCCOM) as Chief
12of the Management Engineering Office at the Rock Island Arsenal
13after 28 years of service; twelve of those years were spent
14teaching at the U.S. Army Engineering College; he also worked
15at Deere & Co. Headquarters, Moline, and at numerous aerospace
16companies in Los Angeles, California; he was called before the
17United States Senate as an expert witness on industrial
18engineering; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Al Adlfinger enjoyed playing chess; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Al Adlfinger was preceded in death by his wife,
21Elaine; his infant daughter, Diane; his sisters, Mona Whitney

1and Barbara Yackley; and his grandson, Josiah Johnson; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Al Adlfinger is survived by his daughters, Mona
3(Tom) Hicks and Mary (Dennis) Johnson; his sons, Martin (Kathy
4Schumacher) Adlfinger, Brian (Rebecca Hudson) Adlfinger, and
5Christopher (Natalie) Adlfinger; his 16 grandchildren; and his
6eight great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Albert C. "Al" Adlfinger and extend our sincere condolences to
10his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Al Adlfinger as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
