SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Kenneth Paul "Ken" Rittenhouse Sr. of
4Bloomington, who passed away on January 12, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ken Rittenhouse was born in Streator to Glenn and
6Harriet Murphy Rittenhouse on June 21, 1947; he married Carolyn
7McClure in Urbana on September 16, 1972; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Ken Rittenhouse worked for Illini Aviation in
9Urbana until 1973 when he purchased Clark Aviation in
10Bloomington (Image Air); he had over 25,000 flight hours and
11held certificates for flight/ground instructor, commercial
12(sea and helicopter), and airline transport pilot; he was owner
13of AmbuAir, ExecAir, Mid America Aviation Sales, and Image Air
14Petroleum; he was also responsible for flights for organ
15recovery for many years and was a flight instructor and mentor
16to many pilots over the years; he also held a master merchant
17mariner license; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ken Rittenhouse was a member of Centennial
19Christian Church in Bloomington; he loved boating and playing
20golf; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Ken Rittenhouse was preceded in death by his

1parents and his sister, Ann Buchta; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Ken Rittenhouse is survived by his wife, Carolyn;
3his children, Kenneth Paul (Kellie) Rittenhouse Jr., Kevin Neal
4Rittenhouse, and Heather Causer (Allan Kolak); and his
5grandchildren, Daniel Rittenhouse, Brandon Causer, and Emma
6DeVoe; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Kenneth Paul "Ken" Rittenhouse Sr. and extend our sincere
10condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
11him; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Ken Rittenhouse as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
