SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ethel "Dolly" Golwitzer Flesher of
4Waukegan, who passed away on December 16, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dolly Flesher was born on December 8, 1917; she
6retired from Great Lakes Hospital, where she worked as a
7purchasing agent; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Dolly Flesher was active in her community; she was
9a member of the First United Methodist Church, Libertyville
10O.E.S., the Masonic Ladies Auxiliary, the Dunesland Garden
11Club, the Clara Cummings Book Club, the National Association of
12Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Senior Council, the Waukegan
13Historical Society, the Lake County Sweet Adelines, the Lake
14County Republicans Club, and the Woman's Circle at the First
15United Methodist Church in Waukegan; she was a co-coordinator
16and instructor for Mouse Club Computer Classes at the Waukegan
17Park Place Senior Center and a 30-year volunteer at Vista East;
18she was a past Worthy Matron of the Waukegan order of Eastern
19Star and a past President of the Waukegan Woman's Club, Lake
20County Chapter AARP #1509, and the Ladies Auxiliary Kenosha
21Shrine Club; and
 
22    WHEREAS, Dolly Flesher was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs;

2    WHEREAS, Dolly Flesher was preceded in death by her first
3husband, Clyde Golwitzer Sr.; her second husband, Charles
4(Bill) Flesher; her son, Gary Golwitzer Sr.; her daughter,
5Donna Walles; her granddaughter, Sharon Stojak; her
6great-grandsons, Michael and Jimmy Mortensen; her
7great-granddaughter, Alexis Golwitzer; her daughters-in-law,
8Judy Golwitzer and June Golwitzer; her sons-in-law, Donald
9Verne Jr. and Michael Walles; her brothers, Merton W. Davis and
10Wesley R. Davis; and her sister, Mildred Goerler; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dolly Flesher is survived by her sons, Clyde W.
12Golwitzer and Brian (Lori) Golwitzer Sr.; her daughters,
13Jacquelyn Verne and Dawn (Jesse) Arroyo; her 13 grandchildren;
14her 27 great-grandchildren; and her 14
15great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Ethel "Dolly" Golwitzer Flesher and extend our sincere
19condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
20her; and be it further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Dolly Flesher as an expression of
