SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James D. "Jim" Zimmerman M.D. of
4Bloomington, who passed away on December 23, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Zimmerman was born in Mason City to F. Wayne
6and Janice Mathers Zimmerman on March 16, 1949; he graduated
7from Princeton (IL) High School in 1968 and received his degree
8in pharmacy from Drake University in 1973; he graduated from
9the University of Illinois Medical School and did his residency
10at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City; he married Sharry
11Olson in Princeton on September 7, 1974; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dr. Zimmerman moved to Bloomington in June of 1979
13and opened Bloomington Pediatrics; he retired in August of
142013; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Dr. Zimmerman loved spending time with his family,
16golfing, fishing, and cheering on the Cubs; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dr. Zimmerman was preceded in death by his father;
18and
 
19    WHEREAS, Dr. Zimmerman is survived by his wife, Sharry; his
20mother, Janice Zimmerman; his children, Matthew Zimmerman,

1Susan (Brent) Collins, and Jonathan (Sarah) Zimmerman; his
2grandchildren, Ethan and Annabel Collins and Everett, Gage, and
3Caroline Zimmerman; his brothers, Dr. Richard (Debbie) and Dr.
4Thomas (Barbara) Zimmerman; and several nieces and nephews;
5therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8James D. "Jim" Zimmerman M.D. and extend our sincere
9condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
10him; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Dr. Zimmerman as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
