SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dale O. Campbell of Pontiac, who passed
4away on January 23, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dale Campbell was born in Stratford, South Dakota
6to Oliver and Lenora (Stange) Campbell on May 8, 1929; he
7graduated from Pontiac Township High School in 1947; he married
8Mildred "Millie" Burton in Pontiac on June 25, 1950; he served
9in the Illinois National Guard; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dale Campbell was employed by the Thomas Jefferson
11Life Insurance Co. and later at the Illinois Emergency
12Management Agency for several years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Dale Campbell was very involved within the City of
14Pontiac, serving as an alderman for eight years, as the mayor
15for eight years, and as the Pontiac Township Tax Assessor for
16eight years; he also served on the Livingston County Board for
17eight years; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Dale Campbell was a member of the Mohammed
19Shriner's Temple and the First Presbyterian Church in Pontiac;
20he enjoyed helping children; he was also an avid Cubs and Bears
21fan; and

1    WHEREAS, Dale Campbell was preceded in death by his wife,
2Mildred "Millie" Burton; his brother, Donald Campbell; and his
3sisters, Lois Hakes and Harriett Wagner; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Dale Campbell is survived by his children, Sandy
5(Richard) Hamilton and Scot (Paula) Campbell; his
6granddaughters, Jennifer Johnson and Joanna Hamilton; his four
7great-granddaughters; his brother, Dean Campbell; his two
8brothers-in-law; and his five sisters-in-law; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Dale Campbell and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
12friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Dale O. Campbell as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
