Makes appropriations to the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2020.

    AN ACT concerning appropriations.

 

        Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

 

ARTICLE 1

 

    Section 5.  The amount of $100,000,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois for the purpose of recruiting and retaining faculty at the Urbana-Champaign campus, specifically within the Grainger College of Engineering, the Carle Illinois College of Medicine, the College of Agricultural, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences, the fields in natural science and mathematics within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Gies College of Business, the College of Law, the College of Veterinary Medicine, and the College of Applied Health Sciences, including, but not limited to, supplementing the University of Illinois Distinguished Faculty Recruitment Program, ensuring that faculty salaries are competitive with competing universities, equipment costs, graduate student support, facility renovations, and miscellaneous research and teaching expenses that may be necessary for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021.

 

Section 99.  Effective Date.  This Act takes effect July 1, 2020.
