AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1909

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1909 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Alzheimer's Disease Research Act is amended
5by changing Sections 3 and 3.2 as follows:
 
6    (410 ILCS 410/3)  (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 6903)
7    (Text of Section before amendment by P.A. 101-588)
8    Sec. 3. (a) There is created the Alzheimer's Disease
9Research Fund, a special fund in the State Treasury.
10    (b) The Department of Public Health shall deposit any
11donations received for the grant program created pursuant to
12this Act in the Alzheimer's Disease Research Fund.
13    (c) The General Assembly may appropriate monies in the
14Alzheimer's Disease Research Fund to the Department of Public
15Health for the purpose of awarding grants pursuant to this Act.

2    Sec. 3. Alzheimer's Disease Research, Care, and Support
3Fund.
4    (a) There is created the Alzheimer's Disease Research,
5Care, and Support Fund, a special fund in the State Treasury.
6    (b) The Department of Public Health shall deposit any
7donations received for the grant program created pursuant to
8this Act in the Alzheimer's Disease Research, Care, and Support
9Fund.
10    (c) The General Assembly may appropriate moneys in the
11Alzheimer's Disease Research, Care, and Support Fund to the
12Department of Public Health for the purpose of complying with
13the requirements under Section 3.2 4 of this Act.

18    Sec. 3.2. Use of moneys in the Fund. Moneys in the
19Alzheimer's Disease Research, Care, and Support Fund shall be
20used by the Department of Public Health to cover costs
21associated with this Act, including, but not limited to, the
22following:
23        (1) salary and benefits for the full-time position of
24    Dementia Coordinator within the Department; and

1        (2) other expenses contingent with the
2    responsibilities of the Dementia Coordinator, including,
3    but not limited to, travel and professional development
4    opportunities; .
5        (3) if funding is available after supporting
6    activities under paragraphs (1) and (2), executing
7    appropriate modules of the Behavioral Risk Factor
8    Surveillance System and otherwise administering relevant
9    data collection; and
10        (4) if funding is available after supporting
11    activities under paragraphs (1), (2), and (3),
12    implementing recommendations outlined in the Alzheimer's
13    Disease State Plan.

15    Section 95. No acceleration or delay. Where this Act makes
16changes in a statute that is represented in this Act by text
17that is not yet or no longer in effect (for example, a Section
18represented by multiple versions), the use of that text does
19not accelerate or delay the taking effect of (i) the changes
20made by this Act or (ii) provisions derived from any other
21Public Act.
 
22    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January
231, 2020.".
