AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1588 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1588 by replacing 
3line 26 on page 2 through line 4 on page 3 with the following:
4    ""Sexual harassment" means engaging in a course of conduct, 
5as defined by this Section, that is directed at a specific 
6person based on that individual's actual or perceived sex or 
7gender that causes that person emotional distress, and the 
8person engaging in the conduct knows or should know that this 
9course of conduct would cause a reasonable person emotional 
10distress."; and


 
11on page 5, line 23, after the period, by inserting the 
12following: "Victim advocates include, but are not limited to, 
13rape crisis center advocates."; and
 
14on page 25, immediately below line 10, by inserting the 
15following:

1    "Section 145. Retaliation prohibited.  A petition for 
2relief under this Act made in good faith is protected by the 
3anti-retaliation provisions of the Illinois Human Rights Act to 
4the extent they are applicable."; and
 
5on page 27, line 20, by deleting "112A-5.5,"; and
 
6by deleting line 11 on page 43 through line 15 on page 46.
