| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 9-15 as follows:

| 6 | | (305 ILCS 5/9-15 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 9-15. Township food pantries. In a county under |
| 8 | | township organization, a township may provide, from moneys |
| 9 | | received and collected for public aid to all persons eligible |
| 10 | | therefor under Article VI of this Code, funds and administer |
| 11 | | programs for providing in-kind aid in meeting basic maintenance |
| 12 | | requirements, including, but not limited to, food, paper goods, |
| 13 | | toiletries, and clothing, to persons who are poor, indigent, |
| 14 | | homeless, or in need of immediate assistance, in addition to |
| 15 | | financial aid provided under this Code.
