AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 450




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 450 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 5. The Career and Workforce Transition Act is 
5amended  by changing Section 10 as follows:
 
6    (110 ILCS 151/10)

7    Sec. 10. Transfer of credits. 
8    (a) A public community college district shall accept up to 
930 credit hours transferred from an institution that has been 
10approved under Section 15 of this Act if a student has 
11completed one of the following programs at that institution:
12        (1)  Medical Assisting. 
13        (2)  Medical Coding.
14        (3)  Dental Assisting.
15        (4)  HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning).
16        (5)  Welding.

1        (6)  Pharmacy Technician.
2        (7) General Carpentry. 
3        (8) Interior Systems Carpentry. 
4        (9) Drywall. 
5        (10) Floor Covering.

8        (13) Insulation/Spray Foam. 
9        (14) Siding Installation. 
10        (15) Roofing. 
11        (16) Lathing. 
12        (17) Pile Driving.

16        (21) Commercial Electrical Construction.

6The program must, at a minimum, be a 9-month program and use a 
7credit-hour system.

8    (b) The public community college district may accept the 
9credits as direct equivalent credits or prior learning credits, 
10as determined by the district and consistent with the 
11accrediting standards and institutional and residency 
12requirements of the Board, the Higher Learning Commission, 
13other State and national accreditors, and State licensing 
14bodies, as appropriate. 
15    (c) Any designation given by Board of credit hour value for 
16items (1) through (6) under subsection (a) shall be applied by 
17the community college district as direct or elective credit 
18toward an associate degree of applied science or its equivalent 
19as determined by the community college district.

21    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
22becoming law.".
