AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 135




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 135 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 5. The Illinois Power Agency Act is amended  by 
5adding Sections 1-135 and 1-140 as follows:
 
6    (20 ILCS 3855/1-135 new)
7    Sec. 1-135. Fuel diversity capacity. The Illinois Power 
8Agency shall conduct at least one workshop and issue a report 
9regarding the importance of fuel diversity in Illinois for 
10capacity. The report under this Section shall be submitted to 
11the Governor and the General Assembly, as well as posted on the 
12Internet website of the Agency, on or before March 1, 2020. 
13This Section is repealed on January 1, 2021.
 
14    (20 ILCS 3855/1-140 new)
15    Sec. 1-140. Demand response options. The Illinois Power

1Agency shall conduct at least one workshop and issue a report 
2on the level of demand response resources in the Illinois 
3capacity markets and the benefits that demand response brings 
4to wholesale markets and demand response providers, and 
5identify barriers to market participation by consumers. The 
6report under this Section shall be submitted to the Governor 
7and the General Assembly, as well as posted on the Internet 
8website of the Agency, on or before March 1, 2020. This Section 
9is repealed on January 1, 2021.
 

10    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
11becoming law.".
