3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Eddie Lee |
4 | | Jackson Sr. of East St. Louis, who passed away on December 18, |
5 | | 2020; and

6 | | WHEREAS, Eddie Jackson was born to Aaron Jackson and Fannie |
7 | | Mae Jackson in Canalou, Missouri on July 14, 1949; he graduated |
8 | | from East St. Louis Senior High School in 1967; he married |
9 | | Pearlie Mae Rich in October of 1969; he attended Southern |
10 | | Illinois University Edwardsville where he earned a bachelor's |
11 | | degree in Education and a master's degree focused on City |
12 | | Planning; he also became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi |
13 | | Fraternity, Inc; and

14 | | WHEREAS, Eddie Jackson started his political career in East |
15 | | St. Louis in the early 1970s and served on the East St. Louis |
16 | | City Council for more than 30 years; after retiring as an |
17 | | educator, he served in the Illinois House of Representatives |
18 | | for 8 years, from 2009 to 2017, representing the 114th |
19 | | District; and

20 | | WHEREAS, Eddie attended Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist |
21 | | Church and was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc for |
22 | | more than 50 years; his accomplishments as an educator, |
