2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Deidre |
4 | | Lynn "Dee" Lee, who passed away on October 2, 2020; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Deidre Lee was born in Harvey to Earlie Mae and |
6 | | Melvin Abbott on July 26, 1960; she attended Second Baptist |
7 | | Church in Harvey and graduated from Thornton Township High |
8 | | School in Harvey in 1978, where she participated in many clubs |
9 | | and extracurricular activities; she continued her education at |
10 | | Columbia College in downtown Chicago; she met Ronnie L. Lee at |
11 | | St. Mark MBC Cathedral, and they were married in August of |
12 | | 1997; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Deidre Lee worked for Washington Cemetery, |
14 | | Playboy Magazine, the Berglund Construction Company, and |
15 | | Roseland Hospital as administrative assistance to the regional |
16 | | director; and |
17 | | WHEREAS, Deidre Lee and her husband founded the Nehemiah |
18 | | Christian Center Ministries, originally in the city of Robbins, |
19 | | in February of 2001; she served in various roles, including as |
20 | | a member of the Praise Team, as an administrator, and then as |
21 | | pastor of the Women's Ministry; and |

1 | | WHEREAS, Deidre Lee received her Church Planter Training |
2 | | Certificate of Completion in June of 2000; she was licensed to |
3 | | preach the gospel in August of 2006 and was ordained as a |
4 | | minister in September of 2010; and |
5 | | WHEREAS, Deidre Lee served as the Leading Lady in the State |
6 | | of Illinois alongside her husband, who in August 2014 was |
7 | | consecrated and appointed as Illinois State Bishop of the New |
8 | | Century Fellowship of Churches; she also served as the Leading |
9 | | Lady of Impact Covenant Fellowship of Illinois alongside her |
10 | | husband, who served as Episcopal Prelate; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Deidre Lee was a loving wife and mother and |
12 | | balanced motherhood and ministry with near perfection; she was |
13 | | devoted to her family; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, Deidre Lee was preceded in death by her father, |
15 | | Melvin Abbott; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, Deidre Lee is survived by her mother, Earlie Mae |
17 | | Abbott; her husband, Bishop Ronnie L. Lee; her daughters, |
18 | | Nikeela Kioca Oliver, Shekinah Lynn Lee, Meghan Faith Payton, |
19 | | and Melanie Joy Lee; her Godson, Michael King; her grandson, |
20 | | Taharka Payton Jr.; her granddaughter, Maleah Lee; her sister, |
21 | | Mavis Abbott; her sisters-in-law, Sylvia Tidwell, Doris |
22 | | (Kenny) Johnson, and Patricia Lee Smith; her brothers-in-law, |

1 | | Earl Lee Jr. and Eugene (Jill) Matthews; her mother-in-law, |
2 | | Hannah M. Lee; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, |
3 | | cousins, and dear friends; therefore, be it

4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
5 | | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
6 | | we mourn the passing of Deidre Lynn "Dee" Lee and extend our |
7 | | sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew |
8 | | and loved her; and be it further

9 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
10 | | presented to the family of Deidre Lee as an expression of our |
11 | | deepest sympathy.
