HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
4Jacqueline "Jackie" Dominowski Kostrzewa, who passed away
5peacefully at her home surrounded by her children on July 13,
62020; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Jackie Kostrzewa was a devoted and loving mother
8to John (Melissa) Kostrzewa, Jeanne (Michael) Morrelli, and
9Karen and Suzi (Randy) Kostrzewa; she was a caring grandmother
10to Courtney, Kristopher, Anthony, Jonathon, and Colette; she
11was a loving sister to the late Gale (Cheryl) Dominowski; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Jackie Kostrzewa was a dedicated and active
13resident of the North Mayfair community on Chicago's northwest
14side; she attended grammar school at Saint Edward's Catholic
15School; she was an iconic neighbor of Kolmar Avenue, the street
16on which she lived much of her life; additionally, she served
17on the North Mayfair Improvement Association Board as financial
18secretary and vice president; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jackie Kostrzewa's love for Chicago extended
20beyond her home community; she engaged civically as an election
21judge for over 20 years and was politically active across the
22city; and

1    WHEREAS, For decades, Jackie Kostrzewa was involved in the
217th Police District CAPS Program, volunteering for a number of
3programs, including Hooked on Fishing and National Night Out;
4she cared deeply about the safety of the community, especially
5for children; she worked as a crossing guard for many years,
6helping children get to and from school safely; and
 
7    WHEREAS, On May 30, 2018, Jackie Kostrzewa was inducted
8into the 2018 Chicago Senior Citizen Hall of Fame for her
9longstanding dedication to and passion for the North Mayfair
10community; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
12HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
13we mourn the passing of Jacqueline "Jackie" Dominowski
14Kostrzewa and extend our sincere condolences to her family,
15friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Jackie Kostrzewa as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
