HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Dottie Wagman on the
4occasion of her 100th birthday on May 28, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dottie Wagman was born on May 28, 1920; she was
6born the same year the 19th Amendment, which gives women the
7right to vote, was ratified; she lived through the Great
8Depression, World War II, the polio epidemic, and now the
9COVID-19 pandemic, always with a positive attitude; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dottie Wagman was a civilian worker for the U.S.
11Army and the U.S. Navy during WWII; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dottie Wagman is a staunch Democrat and has been
13all her life; she is a lifelong Cubs fan, an inveterate slot
14machine player, a Wheel of Fortune puzzle solver, and the
15paramount supporter of her local Women Giving Back speed
16philanthropy group; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dottie Wagman is known for being an amazing
18individual with an incredible memory; she is the epitome of
19someone who ages gracefully and well; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE

1HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
2we congratulate Dottie Wagman on celebrating her 100th
3birthday, and we wish her many more happy and healthy years;
4and be it further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to Dottie Wagman as an expression of our esteem and
7respect.
