HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate the West
4Lincoln-Broadwell Junior High School Girls Basketball team,
5the Wolverines, on winning the 2019 Illinois Elementary School
6Association Class 1A State Girls Basketball Championship for
7both the 7th and 8th grade teams; and
 
8    WHEREAS, The 7th grade Wolverines secured a 25 to 20
9victory over Ashland-Chandlerville Central Middle School at
10Assumption Central A & M Middle School on December 12, 2019;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, The 8th grade Wolverines secured a 39 to 28
13victory over A-C Central Middle School at Clinton Junior High
14School on December 19, 2019; and
 
15    WHEREAS, With these championships, West Lincoln-Broadwell
16has now won both the 7th and 8th grade Class 1A girls
17basketball championships for the last three years, making it
18six total state championships in three years; and
 
19    WHEREAS, The Wolverines are led by Head Coach Kari Froebe
20and Assistant Coaches Brad Schneider and Cory Farmer; and

1    WHEREAS, The Wolverines are managed by Malina Luckhart,
2Kruz Froebe, Kendal Long, Addie Farmer, and Falyn Farmer; and
 
3    WHEREAS, The Wolverines are Becca Heitzig, Kloe Froebe,
4Regan Goodey, Jenna Bowman, Alison Turner, Tori Geriets, Alyssa
5Bishop, Mia Clark, Lily Holmes, Marin Luckhart, Piper Whiteman,
6Jane Turner, Emma Baker, Rebecca Burge, Amaya Randall, Myah
7Bowman, Grace Schneider, Dabria Dalpoas, Mesa McCloud, Madison
8Kurka, Grey Gilbert, Norah Block, and Chamaya Howard;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
11HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12we congratulate the West Lincoln-Broadwell Junior High School
13Girls Basketball team, the Wolverines, on winning the 2019
14Illinois Elementary School Association Class 1A State Girls
15Basketball Championship for both the 7th and 8th grade teams,
16and we hold them up as models of hard work, dedication, and
17team spirit; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
19presented to Head Coach Kari Froebe and West Lincoln-Broadwell
20Junior High School Superintendent/Principal Heather Baker as a
21symbol of our respect and esteem.
