HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Saint Elizabeth of the 
4Trinity parish in Chicago on its formation through the 
5successful merger of Saint Tarcissus, Saint Cornelius, and 
6Saint Thecla parishes; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Saint Elizabeth refers to Elizabeth Catez, a 
8French Discalced Carmelite nun, who died in 1906 at the age of 
926 from Addison's disease, a disorder which affects the adrenal 
10glands; she was canonized in 2016 and serves as the patron of 
11sick people, of the loss of parents, and against illness; the 
12parish's name also reflects its origin as three separate 
13parishes uniting together to form a trinity, similar to the 
14Catholic belief of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit 
15forming the Holy Trinity; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, The new parish will be located in the current home 
17of Saint Tarcissus at 6020 West Ardmore Avenue in Chicago; the 
18Saint Tarcissus campus and church will be referred to as Saint 
19Elizabeth of the Trinity in all parish materials beginning July 
201, 2020; and
  
 
21    WHEREAS, In addition, the Pope Francis Global Academy North 
22Campus, which is housed in the former Saint Tarcissus School,

1will be renamed the Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity School; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, The current pastor of Saint Tarcissus, Mike 
3Grisolano, will become the pastor of Saint Elizabeth of the 
4Trinity starting this summer; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Currently, plans are being made to form a 
6unification committee that will consist of approximately six 
7members from each the three parishes; the committee's 
8responsibilities will include sponsoring events in which 
9members of all three parishes will participate; therefore, be 
10it
  
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
12HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
13we congratulate Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity and wish them 
14many  years of faith and fellowship as they build their new 
15community; and be it further
  
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to Pastor Mike Grisolano and the Saint Elizabeth of 
18the Trinity parish as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
