| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate the Benet Academy girls |
| 4 | | volleyball team, the Redwings, on having an excellent |
| 5 | | competitive season that culminated in winning the 2019 Illinois |
| 6 | | High School Association Class 4A State Championship on November |
| 7 | | 16, 2019; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Prior to competing in the 2019 championship game, |
| 9 | | the Redwings compiled an impressive 41 and 1 season, tying the |
| 10 | | 2014 team for the best record in program history; the Redwings |
| 11 | | bested two-time defending champion Marist High School to earn |
| 12 | | their spot in the championship; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, In the title game, the Redwings scored early leads |
| 14 | | in their 25-12 and 25-16 wins against Wheaton Warrenville South |
| 15 | | High School; five different players served aces, and six had at |
| 16 | | least one kill during the championship at Red Bird Arena on the |
| 17 | | Illinois State University campus in Normal; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, The Redwings last won the state title in 2014 and |
| 19 | | have now brought home the top trophy four times this decade for |
| 20 | | Benet; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, The Redwings are coached by Head Coach Brad Baker |

| 3 | | WHEREAS, The Redwings are Jaclynn Budreck, Caroline Doyle, |
| 4 | | Kyla Kenney, Hattie Monson, Ann Marie Remmes, Kiara Zamar, |
| 5 | | Annie Sobolewski, Katherine Mojica, Caitlin Wepfer, Sam |
| 6 | | Buckley, Rese Bastuga, Daria Rodriguez, Olivia Gonnella, Maeve |
| 7 | | Nelligan, Colleen McGuire, Rachel Muisenga, Caelin Abramic, |
| 8 | | and Sophie Gregus; therefore, be it

| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 10 | | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 11 | | we congratulate the Benet Academy Redwings girls volleyball |
| 12 | | team on winning the 2019 Illinois High School Association Class |
| 13 | | 4A state championship, and we wish them many more successful |
