HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Kenneth
4"Kenny" Allen; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kenny Allen was born in Chicago to Sadie Allen on
6December 27, 1965; he attended John A. Sbarbaro Elementary
7School and graduated from Simeon Vocational High School, where
8he was a star athlete and basketball player; he led the
9Wolverines to the 1983–84 Illinois High School Association
10Basketball Championship and was named MVP; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Kenny Allen had an entrepreneurial spirit; he
12loved exploring new opportunities, generating innovative
13ideas, and working with his hands; for the last several years,
14he worked closely with his cousin, John Allen, as an
15independent contractor for Al's Fast Service; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Kenny Allen was affectionately known as "Red"; he
17had an infectious smile and loud laugh that would win anyone
18over; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Kenny Allen was preceded in death by his mother;
20his brother, Harold Allen; and other family members and
21friends; and

1    WHEREAS, Kenny Allen is survived by his sisters, Gloria
2Allen Hodges and Marion Allen; his brothers, Gregory (Karen),
3Michael, and Maurice Allen; his uncle, Morris (Marlene) Allen
4Sr.; his aunt, Doris Allen; his great-aunts, Willa and Erma
5Perry; his sister-in-law, Doris Allen; and numerous nieces,
6nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
8HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9we mourn the passing of Kenneth "Kenny" Allen and extend our
10sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
11and loved him; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Kenny Allen as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
