2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Lloyd | ||||||
4 | Emory DeTienne Jr., who passed away on August 26, 2019; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Lloyd DeTienne Jr. was born in Zion to Lloyd and | ||||||
6 | Eileen (Bure) DeTienne on October 19, 1934; he graduated from | ||||||
7 | Zion-Benton Township High School in 1952; he married Sally Su | ||||||
8 | Cook in 1953; he attended the FBI National Academy in Quantico, | ||||||
9 | Virginia and graduated first in his class; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Lloyd DeTienne Jr. was a hard-working, | ||||||
11 | industrious man with a cheerful and happy outlook who was | ||||||
12 | dedicated to his family, his faith, and the City of Zion; while | ||||||
13 | in high school, he delivered a six-mile, rural route every day | ||||||
14 | of the week for the Waukegan News Sun and was selected as | ||||||
15 | Outstanding Newsboy in 1951; after graduation, he worked as a | ||||||
16 | bagger at the old A&P in Zion, as a local distributor for | ||||||
17 | Colonial Bread, and as an apprentice butcher; he later followed | ||||||
18 | in his grandfather's footsteps and pursued a career in law | ||||||
19 | enforcement; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Lloyd DeTienne Jr. began his career in law | ||||||
21 | enforcement as a Patrolman for the City of Zion's Police | ||||||
22 | Department in 1957; he served as the City's first full-time |

| |||||||
1 | Juvenile Officer; he was appointed Chief of Police in 1963; he | ||||||
2 | served as city alderman for five terms; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Lloyd DeTienne Jr. was a faithful member of | ||||||
4 | Trinity Christian Center in Zion; he never met a stranger and | ||||||
5 | will be remembered for his warm and caring personality; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Lloyd DeTienne Jr. was preceded in death by his | ||||||
7 | parents; his wife, Sally Su DeTienne; and his daughter-in-law, | ||||||
8 | Donna DeTienne; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Lloyd DeTienne Jr. is survived by his children, | ||||||
10 | Teri (Scott) DeTienne-Davenport, Wanda (Doug) Pince, Douglas | ||||||
11 | DeTienne, and LeAnn (Dean) Fischer; his grandchildren, Matthew | ||||||
12 | DeTienne-Davenport, Mandi DeTienne-Davenport, Aaron Pince, | ||||||
13 | Barry Pince, Lindsay DeTienne, Megan (Bob) Simmington, and | ||||||
14 | Talisa Fischer; nine great-grandchildren; and his siblings, | ||||||
15 | Pat Roth, Linda Antcliff, and Herb (Shirley) DeTienne; | ||||||
16 | therefore, be it

17 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
18 | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
19 | we mourn the passing of Lloyd Emory DeTienne Jr. and extend our | ||||||
20 | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | ||||||
21 | and loved him; and be it further

2 | presented to the family of Lloyd DeTienne Jr. as an expression | ||||||
