|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives wish to commend Mary Ann Millush on her more |
4 | | than 25 years of service to the College of DuPage; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ann Millush has cultivated key relationships |
6 | | within various COD constituency groups, as well as with |
7 | | external organizations, community leaders, and elected |
8 | | officials on both national and local platforms; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, As Director of Legislative Relations and Special |
10 | | Assistant to the President of the College, Mary Ann Millush has |
11 | | provided impeccable service to six of the College's seven |
12 | | presidents; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ann Millush has assisted board members with |
14 | | orientation to the COD Board, leadership transitions, and |
15 | | public governance with efficiency, professionalism, and grace; |
16 | | and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ann Millush headed numerous legislative |
18 | | events to best position the College with senators, state |
19 | | representatives, and other legislators; and
|
20 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ann Millush helped lead efforts to |
|

1 | | successfully pass a No-Tax-Rate-Increase referendum, |
2 | | identifying key constituent groups for outreach efforts and |
3 | | coordinating speaking engagements for referendum team |
4 | | volunteers with local governmental entities, which helped fund |
5 | | $168 million in capital improvements at the Glen Ellyn campus, |
6 | | addressing key infrastructure needs on campus; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ann Millush, through an innate understanding |
8 | | of the relationships and distinctions that characterize a large |
9 | | educational institution, has provided invaluable guidance on |
10 | | all aspects of administrative business; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ann Millush maintained positive working |
12 | | relationships with local legislators and members of the |
13 | | business community through one of the most tumultuous periods |
14 | | of the College's history; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ann Millush facilitated positive and |
16 | | productive relationships between College leaders, |
17 | | entrepreneurial entities, and elected officials from the |
18 | | Village of Glen Ellyn, resulting in the creation of the |
19 | | inaugural Innovation DuPage (ID), a business |
20 | | incubator/accelerator/training facility in the heart of DuPage |
21 | | County; and
|
22 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ann Millush has consistently provided |

1 | | unfaltering dedication to processes and procedures to ensure |
2 | | Board business is undertaken in strict accordance with State |
3 | | law; therefore, be it

4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
5 | | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
6 | | we commend Mary Ann Millush on her more than 25 years of |
7 | | dedicated service to the College of DuPage; and be it further

8 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
9 | | presented to Mary Ann Millush as an expression of our esteem |
10 | | and respect.
