HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Alan Stoeckel on the 
4occasion of his retirement as Chief of the Palatine Police 
5Department; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Chief Stoeckel began his career as a patrolman in 
71985; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Chief Stoeckel rose through the ranks and served 
9as a field training officer and as a crime scene technician, 
10where he assisted in the processing of evidence in the Brown's 
11Chicken murders in 1993 and subsequently testified in the 
12successful prosecution of the perpetrators; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Chief Stoeckel was appointed chief in 2014, a 
14position he held for five years; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Chief Stoeckel graduated from the FBI National 
16Academy Class #251 and from the Southern Police Institute 
17Administrative Officers Course #102; he is a member of the FBI 
18National Academy of Associates, the North Suburban Association 
19of Chiefs of Police, where he served as president, the Illinois 
20Association of Chiefs of Police, and the International 
21Association of Chiefs of Police; and

1    WHEREAS, Chief Stoeckel and his wife, Cindy, are the 
2parents of Amanda, Allison (Dale), and Andy and the 
3grandparents of Lincoln; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
5HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
6we congratulate Alan Stoeckel on the occasion of his retirement 
7as Chief of the Palatine Police Department, commend his 34-year 
8career, and wish him success in his future endeavors; and be it

10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to Chief Stoeckel as an expression of our esteem and 
12respect.
