| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Brandon | ||||||
| 4 | Christopher of Streamwood, a graduating Senior at Streamwood | ||||||
| 5 | High School, on his exemplary academic performance, earning a | ||||||
| 6 | cumulative grade point average of 3.4 or above as he finishes | ||||||
| 7 | the 2018-2019 school year; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Brandon Christopher is the 18-year-old son of | ||||||
| 9 | Cindy and Lee Christopher of Streamwood; he was recognized as a | ||||||
| 10 | School District U-46 African American History Month Senior | ||||||
| 11 | Scholar at the inaugural School District U-46 Black History | ||||||
| 12 | Month Program held at Larkin High School on February 9, 2019; | ||||||
| 13 | and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Brandon Christopher was one of only 16 | ||||||
| 15 | African-American students from across U-46's five high schools | ||||||
| 16 | who, as of last semester, had earned a cumulative grade point | ||||||
| 17 | average of 3.4 or above; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Brandon Christopher was invited to attend the | ||||||
| 19 | senior academic recognition ceremony by School District U-46 | ||||||
| 20 | CEO Tony Sanders and was presented with a certificate of | ||||||
| 21 | achievement on stage; this is a special achievement because he | ||||||
| 22 | was the only senior from Streamwood High School who was | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | recognized that evening; and
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Brandon Christopher has been named to the | ||||||
| 3 | Streamwood High School Combined Regular and High Honor Roll, | ||||||
| 4 | the Streamwood High School Academic All-Star Team, and the | ||||||
| 5 | Upstate Eight Academic All-Conference Team; he is a member of | ||||||
| 6 | the National Honor Society and helped to create the first | ||||||
| 7 | Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) Mentoring | ||||||
| 8 | Program at Streamwood High School; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Brandon Christopher has promoted the AVID | ||||||
| 10 | Mentoring Program by giving an orientation to junior and senior | ||||||
| 11 | AVID students who will serve as mentors to the freshmen AVID | ||||||
| 12 | students; the main objective of the program is to prepare | ||||||
| 13 | students for college, careers, and life; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 14 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 15 | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 16 | we congratulate Brandon Christopher on his academic | ||||||
| 17 | achievements and wish him success in his future endeavors; and | ||||||
| 18 | be it further

| 19 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 20 | presented to Brandon Christopher as an expression of our esteem | ||||||
| 21 | and respect.
