2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Anthony T. Calderone on |
4 | | the occasion of his retirement as Mayor of Forest Park; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Forest Park, Mayor |
6 | | Calderone was first elected as Forest Park Commissioner in |
7 | | 1995; he has served as Forest Park's Mayor since 1999; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Mayor Calderone has a long track record of public |
9 | | service and a commitment to the Village of Forest Park, its |
10 | | residents, businesses, and organizations; he has served many |
11 | | organizations, including, the Forest Park Little League, West |
12 | | Suburban Senior Services (formerly the Proviso Council on |
13 | | Aging), the Proviso Municipal League, the West Central |
14 | | Municipal Conference, where he was a past president, and Oak |
15 | | Leyden Developmental Services; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, Among his contributions, Mayor Calderone has |
17 | | overseen the renaissance of Forest Park; from a newly vibrant |
18 | | downtown corridor along Madison Street to a major redevelopment |
19 | | of the Roosevelt Road commercial corridor, Forest Park's |
20 | | economic development prospects have been greatly enhanced; the |
21 | | residential market is strong, with increasing home values and |
22 | | major new and thoughtfully-designed developments in the |

1 | | Village; and
|
2 | | WHEREAS, Mayor Calderone's public service achievements |
3 | | have been recognized by many organizations, including the |
4 | | Department of the Army, the United Way, Misericordia, the Save |
5 | | a Life Foundation, Illinois Order Sons of Italy, Illinois Main |
6 | | Street, the Governor's Hometown Awards, the Illinois Crime |
7 | | Commission, and the Triton College Foundation; he is also a |
8 | | graduate of the FBI's Citizens Police Academy; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Mayor Calderone has over 30 years in the alarm and |
10 | | security industry; he owns and operates Illinois Alarm Service |
11 | | in Forest Park; he has held a variety of positions with many |
12 | | professional organizations, including the National Burglar & |
13 | | Fire Alarm Association, the Illinois Electric Security |
14 | | Association, the Illinois Fire Inspectors Association, the |
15 | | American Society of Industrial Security, the Alarm Industry |
16 | | Research and Education Foundation, and the Electronic Security |
17 | | Association; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, Mayor Calderone and his wife, Lois, have two |
19 | | children, Augustino and Anthony Jr. (Sarah Beth); he is |
20 | | involved with many service organizations, including the |
21 | | Freemasons, Kiwanis International, where he served as |
22 | | Lieutenant Governor Division #6, the Forest Park Kiwanis Club, |
23 | | where he served as President, Lions Club International, and the |

1 | | Columbian Club; he is a member of St. Bernardine in Forest |
2 | | Park, where he served as chairperson of the Parish Council; |

4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
5 | | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
6 | | we congratulate Anthony T. Calderone on the occasion of his |
7 | | retirement as Mayor of Forest Park, and we wish him the best in |
8 | | his future endeavors; and be it further

9 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
10 | | presented to Mayor Calderone as an expression of our esteem and |
11 | | respect.
