|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Chicago Police Commander |
4 | | Marc S. Buslik on the occasion of his retirement after a |
5 | | lifetime of service in law enforcement; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Commander Buslik started his career in law |
7 | | enforcement as a patrol officer in District 25 and continued in |
8 | | service to the people of Chicago for the next 37 years; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Commander Buslik rose to the rank of commander and |
10 | | oversaw 400 sworn supervisors, patrol officers and detectives, |
11 | | and civilian personnel; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Commander Buslik was the lead Terrorism Liaison |
13 | | Officer and a member of the F.B.I.'s Terrorism Liaison Officer |
14 | | Committee; and |
15 | | WHEREAS, Commander Buslik instituted the Mental Health |
16 | | Resource Officer pilot program, which helped give law |
17 | | enforcement officers the necessary medical support they |
18 | | deserve; and |
19 | | WHEREAS, Commander Buslik was appointed to the Mayoral |
20 | | Police Accountability Task Force and worked tirelessly to |

1 | | examine department practices and accountability measures; and |
2 | | WHEREAS, Commander Buslik piloted the Chicago Police body |
3 | | camera program and became a nationally recognized expert on the |
4 | | use of body cameras by law enforcement; and |
5 | | WHEREAS, Commander Buslik received over 25 awards and |
6 | | recognitions for his exhaustive efforts to keep Chicago safe, |
7 | | which included a prestigious mayoral recognition and three |
8 | | department commendations; and |
9 | | WHEREAS, Commander Buslik published six articles and gave |
10 | | 23 presentations to help fellow law enforcement officers do |
11 | | their jobs safely and effectively; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Due to his knowledge and education, Commander |
13 | | Buslik was an adjunct professor at three of the State's |
14 | | universities and colleges; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Commander Buslik is a distinct and important |
16 | | member of the law enforcement community; he will be missed for, |
17 | | among other things, his ingenuity and intelligence; therefore, |
18 | | be it

19 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
20 | | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
