2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives wish to commend Albert P. Carey on his | ||||||
4 | corporate leadership and community service to the State of | ||||||
5 | Illinois and congratulate him on his retirement from PepsiCo | ||||||
6 | after 35 years of service; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Serving with distinction the past four decades, | ||||||
8 | Albert Carey has held a series of crucial leadership positions, | ||||||
9 | including CEO of Frito-Lay North America in Texas, CEO of | ||||||
10 | Pepsi-Cola North American Beverages in New York, and | ||||||
11 | ultimately, as CEO of the entire PepsiCo North American | ||||||
12 | business, including Quaker Oats in Chicago; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Albert Carey is known for his skill, | ||||||
14 | entrepreneurial vision, and executional excellence, which have | ||||||
15 | demonstrated his commitment to the millions of Quaker Oats | ||||||
16 | consumers throughout the United States; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, An extraordinary individual, Albert Carey has | ||||||
18 | embodied the values of teamwork and respect, showing high | ||||||
19 | regard for consumers, associations throughout the work force, | ||||||
20 | and the communities in which the company operates; he has | ||||||
21 | always committed to the highest standards of excellence and has | ||||||
22 | acted with integrity; and

1 | WHEREAS, Albert Carey has made a valuable contribution to | ||||||
2 | society as a champion of diversity and engagement, often | ||||||
3 | leading PepsiCo's engagement with leading Latino | ||||||
4 | organizations, including the US Hispanic Leadership Institute, | ||||||
5 | UnidosUS, and the National Association of Latino Elected and | ||||||
6 | Appointed Officials (NALEO); and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Albert Carey has practiced servant leadership | ||||||
8 | throughout his career, removing obstacles and creating new | ||||||
9 | opportunities for others, helping to establish PepsiCo's Ring | ||||||
10 | of Honor, which recognizes the work of front-line sales | ||||||
11 | associations, and serving as a mentor to countless PepsiCo | ||||||
12 | employees; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Albert Carey's endeavors, individually and as a | ||||||
14 | leader in PepsiCo, have helped to enhance neighborhoods | ||||||
15 | throughout the United States, including PepsiCo's partnership | ||||||
16 | with City Colleges of Chicago to provide scholarships and | ||||||
17 | training for Chicago residents to enter career paths with | ||||||
18 | PepsiCo; therefore, be it

19 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
20 | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
21 | we congratulate Albert P. Carey on his retirement from PepsiCo, | ||||||
22 | commend his meritorious record of leadership, service, and |

1 | commitment to our communities, and wish him and his family | ||||||
2 | continued happiness and success; and be it further
| ||||||
3 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
