HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the
members of the 
4Chicago (IL) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. 
5on the occasion of the chapter's l00th anniversary; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Chicago (IL) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi 
7Fraternity, Inc. was chartered
on April 17, 1919 in the City of 
8Chicago as the first alumni chapter of the fraternity; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, The Chicago (IL) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi 
10Fraternity, Inc. was chartered
by Kappa Alpha Psi founder Byron 
11K. Armstrong and seven other esteemed men of the
fraternity; 
12and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, The Chicago (IL) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi 
14Fraternity, Inc. was established
following the end of World War 
15I and has selected men of high standard, which epitomizes the

16fraternity's fundamental purpose of achievement; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, The Chicago (IL) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi 
18Fraternity, Inc. has
continuously sponsored programs which 
19provided community service, social welfare, and
academic 
20scholarships over the past century; and

1    WHEREAS, The members of the Chicago (IL) Alumni Chapter of 
2Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
are engaged in every field of 
3human endeavor and continue to distinguish themselves in 
4service
to the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
6HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
7we congratulate the members of the Chicago (IL) Alumni Chapter 
8of Kappa Alpha Psi
Fraternity, Inc. on the occasion of their 
9centennial year and thank them for 100 years of service
in the 
10public interest; and be it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy be presented to the Chicago 
12(IL) Alumni
Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. as a 
13symbol of our respect and esteem.
