HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Esaw
4Peterson, who passed away on February 17, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Esaw Peterson was born on December 23, 1944; he
6served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where
7he obtained the rank of Sergeant and was awarded several medals
8and ribbons of honor; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Esaw Peterson moved to Bloomington to work for
10State Farm Insurance and retired after more than 30 years of
11service; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Esaw Peterson was a true community leader and a
13generous person who gave much to all of McLean County; he
14served on the McLean County Board and was chairman of the
15Justice Committee; he also served on the Bloomington Board of
16Elections Commission, where he oversaw elections and their
17operations in Bloomington; he was a member of the McLean County
18Republican Party, the Lincoln Club of McLean County, and Wayman
19AME Church of Bloomington for many years; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Esaw Peterson is survived by his wife, Cleo; his
21daughters, Rissa and Laurie; and his many other family members;

1therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
3HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
4we mourn the passing of Esaw Peterson and extend our sincere
5condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
6him; and be it further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Esaw Peterson as an expression of
9our deepest sympathy.
