2 | | WHEREAS, The citizens of Illinois are continually taxed
|
3 | | more and more each year; and
|
4 | | WHEREAS, These taxes make Illinois inhospitable to both
|
5 | | citizens and businesses alike; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, The citizens of Illinois are already faced with
|
7 | | some of the highest taxes in the nation; and |
8 | | WHEREAS, Traveling to work or school is a necessity for |
9 | | many citizens; and |
10 | | WHEREAS, Taxing per miles driven will discourage tourism |
11 | | and spending in Illinois; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, The citizens of Illinois are already faced with
|
13 | | many aspects of their lives being taxed at ever-increasing
|
14 | | rates; therefore, be it
|
15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
16 | | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
17 | | we are opposed to any mileage tax in 2019 and beyond; and be it |
