2 | | WHEREAS, It is highly fitting that the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives commends the actions of individuals who help |
4 | | others who are in trouble; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, On January 14, 2019, a car was stuck on a railroad |
6 | | crossing near Lombard; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, With the Metra Union Pacific West Line rolling in, |
8 | | Good Samaritan Steve Spapperi was the first motorist to rush to |
9 | | the vehicle and reach the driver; another Lombard resident, |
10 | | Justin Mueller, joined the effort as Lombard Officer Dan |
11 | | Herrera arrived on the scene; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Together, the three men were able to pull the |
13 | | 96-year old woman out of the car and carry her to safety; |
14 | | seconds later, the car was struck by the train; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, The woman did not suffer any injuries; therefore, |
