HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Officer 
4Eduardo "Lalo" Marmolejo of Chicago, who was killed in the line 
5of duty on December 17, 2018; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Officer Marmolejo had been with the Chicago Police 
7Department for two and a half years and was assigned to the 
8Calumet police district; he was hailed as a humble hero who, in 
9his short career, had already received many department 
10commendations; prior to his service with the police department, 
11he worked as an ER technician at Advocate Christ Medical 
12Center; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Officer Marmolejo was an exemplary officer who 
14displayed selflessness and a sense of duty; and
  
 

  
15    WHEREAS, Officer Marmolejo was the beloved husband of Maria 
16(Perez), the proud father of Rebeca, Madalyn, and Sofia, the 
17cherished son of Manuel and Rebeca (Richarte), the loving 
18brother of Luis, Lorena, Angelica, and Rogelio, the son-in-law 
19of Charles Quinones and Anna Armenta, the dear brother-in-law 
20of Angelica (Hugo) and Charles Jr. (Dana), and the fond uncle 
21of Nicholas, Melanie, David, Aiden, Emily, Emma Sophia, and 
22Charlie; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
2HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we mourn the passing of Officer Eduardo  "Lalo" Marmolejo and 
4extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all 
5who knew and loved him; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Officer Marmolejo as an expression 
8of our deepest sympathy.
