Amends the Real Estate Transactions Article of the Illinois Human Rights Act. Provides that it is a civil rights violation for a commercial residential property owner to discriminate against a housing grant recipient on the basis of credit score or debt obligation. Effective immediately.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Human Rights Act is amended by |
5 | | adding Section 3-102.2 as follows: |
6 | | (775 ILCS 5/3-102.2 new) |
7 | | Sec. 3-102.2. Credit score or debt obligation. It is a |
8 | | civil rights violation for a commercial residential property |
9 | | owner to discriminate against a housing grant recipient on the |
10 | | basis of credit score or debt obligation.

11 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
12 | | becoming law.
