Amends the Child Care Act of 1969. Provides that day care centers, day care homes, and group day care homes may not require a parent or guardian applying to enroll his or her child in a day care program to pay an application fee or holding fee if the parent or guardian is receiving child care assistance through a private or public entity. Effective immediately.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Child Care Act of 1969 is amended by adding |
5 | | Section 5.11 as follows: |
6 | | (225 ILCS 10/5.11 new) |
7 | | Sec. 5.11. Day care application fees. Day care centers, day |
8 | | care homes, and group day care homes may not require a parent |
9 | | or guardian applying to enroll his or her child in a day care |
10 | | program to pay an application fee or holding fee if the parent |
11 | | or guardian is receiving child care assistance through a |
12 | | private or public entity.

13 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
14 | | becoming law.
