Amends the Department of Revenue Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Creates the Senior Citizens Assessment Freeze Task Force. Sets forth the membership of the Task Force. Provides that the Task Force shall study the benefits and consequences associated with expanding the Senior Citizens Assessment Freeze Homestead Exemption to all households that are unlikely to have children in public schools due to advanced age. Effective immediately.

| 8 | | Sec. 2505-805. Senior Citizens Assessment Freeze Task |
| 9 | | Force. |
| 10 | | (a) The Senior Citizens Assessment Freeze Task Force, |
| 11 | | consisting of 8 members, is
established.
Each of the following |
| 12 | | shall appoint 2 members: the Speaker of the House
of
|
| 13 | | Representatives, the House Minority Leader, the Senate |
| 14 | | President, and the
Senate
Minority Leader. The
members of the |
| 15 | | Task Force shall select a chairperson. Members of the Task |
| 16 | | Force
shall
receive no compensation but shall be reimbursed for |
| 17 | | necessary expenses incurred
in the
performance of their duties. |
| 18 | | (b) The Task Force shall study the benefits and |
| 19 | | consequences associated with expanding the Senior Citizens |
| 20 | | Assessment Freeze Homestead Exemption under Section 15-172 of |
| 21 | | the Property Tax Code to all households that are unlikely to |
| 22 | | have children in public schools due to advanced age. The |
