Amends the Department of Transportation Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department of Transportation and the Illinois State Police shall conduct a study on the impact of bright and LED lights on emergency vehicles. Provides that the Department shall submit a report of its findings and recommendations to the General Assembly by January 1, 2021. Effective immediately.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Department of Transportation Law of the
|
| 5 | | Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding |
| 6 | | Section 2705-620 as follows:
|
| 7 | | (20 ILCS 2705/2705-620 new) |
| 8 | | Sec. 2705-620. Bright and LED lights on emergency vehicles |
| 9 | | study. The Department and the Illinois State Police shall |
| 10 | | conduct a study on the impact of bright and LED lights on |
| 11 | | emergency vehicles. The Department shall submit a report of its |
| 12 | | findings and recommendations to the General Assembly by January |
| 13 | | 1, 2021. This Section is repealed on January 1, 2022.

| 14 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 15 | | becoming law.
