    Amends various acts relating to the governance of public universities in Illinois. Removes the requirement that employees of an Illinois college or university must have been employed for an aggregate period of at least 7 years by any one or more than one Illinois college or university for the children of employees to be eligible for a 50% tuition waiver for undergraduate education. Adds the requirement that employees of an Illinois college or university must be employed by an Illinois college or university at the time of enrollment for the child to be eligible for a 50% tuition waiver for undergraduate education. Provides that for an employee's child to remain eligible for a partial tuition waiver, the employee must continue to be employed by an Illinois college or university throughout the duration of the child's enrollment or until the child has expended 4 years of undergraduate partial tuition waiver benefits.

1    AN ACT concerning education.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The University of Illinois Act is amended by
5changing Section 7f as follows:
 
6    (110 ILCS 305/7f)  (from Ch. 144, par. 28f)
7    Sec. 7f. Partial tuition waivers.
8    (a) As used in this Section, "Illinois college or
9university" means any of the following: the University of
10Illinois, Southern Illinois University, Chicago State
11University, Eastern Illinois University, Governors State
12University, Illinois State University, Northeastern Illinois
13University, Northern Illinois University, and Western Illinois
14University.
15    (b) Each year the Board of Trustees of the University of
16Illinois shall offer 50% tuition waivers for undergraduate
17education at any campus under its governance or supervision to
18the children of employees of an Illinois college or university
19who are employed by an Illinois college or university at the
20time of enrollment have been employed by any one or by more
21than one Illinois college or university for an aggregate period
22of at least 7 years. To be eligible to receive a partial
23tuition waiver, the child of an employee of an Illinois college

1or university (i) must be under the age of 25 at the
2commencement of the academic year during which the partial
3tuition waiver is to be effective, and (ii) must qualify for
4admission to the University of Illinois under the same
5admissions requirements, standards and policies which the

7generally to its respective undergraduate colleges and
8programs. For an employee's child to remain eligible for a
9partial tuition waiver, subject to subsection (c), the employee
10must continue to be employed by an Illinois college or
