Amends the Wildlife Code. Provides that a veteran who is at least 10% disabled with service-related disabilities or who is in receipt of a total disability pension is not required to procure a trapping license in order to trap any of the permitted species identified in the Code during such times and with such devices and by such methods as permitted by the Code. Effective immediately.

1 | | AN ACT concerning wildlife.
|
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Wildlife Code is amended by adding Section |
5 | | 3.4c as follows: |
6 | | (520 ILCS 5/3.4c new) |
7 | | Sec. 3.4c. Veterans who, according to the determination of |
8 | | the Veterans' Administration as certified by the Department of |
9 | | Veterans' Affairs, are at least 10% disabled with |
10 | | service-related disabilities or in receipt of total disability |
11 | | pensions may trap any of the species protected by Section 2.2, |
12 | | during such times, with such devices and by such methods as are |
13 | | permitted by this Act, without procuring trapping licenses, on |
14 | | the condition that their respective disabilities do not prevent |
15 | | them from trapping in a manner which is safe to themselves and |
16 | | others.

17 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
18 | | becoming law.
